You don’t have to reserve in advance. We welcome walk-in rentals, but making a reservation by phone ensures the unit size you need will be ready and waiting for you. We encourage you to rent online to save you time on move-in day - especially during busy seasons in the Rio Grande Valley when many folks (including students from nearby colleges or families moving to the area) are looking for storage. Reservations are free, and you can always change to a different unit if your needs change before move-in.

All Affordable Attic Self Storage rentals are month-to-month. You are not locked into a long-term contract. Your rental period is based on your move-in date. For example, if you move in on the 20th, your next payment will be due on the 20th of the following month. This flexibility is great for students who might only need summer storage, military personnel who may be deployed or relocated, or anyone unsure how long they’ll need extra space. You can stay as long as you need, whether it’s one month or several years, and you can move out or upgrade unit sizes without a penalty when your needs change. We want our storage solutions to be as flexible as possible for all our Rio Grande Valley customers.

Yes! We proudly offer a military discount to thank those who serve. Just show your military ID at move-in, and you’ll receive 10% off your first three months’ rent on your storage unit. This discount is our way of supporting military families in our community. Additionally, we often have other promotions throughout the year that everyone can take advantage of, so feel free to ask about any current specials. But the military discount is always available for our servicemen and women.

All of our facilities have well-lit hallways and driveways. Many of our newer or remodeled locations even have interior lights inside the larger units for your convenience. If having a light inside your unit is important to you, let us know. We’re happy to accommodate our customers’ needs whenever possible. In fact, we’ve installed special lighting for customers who requested it before. Your safety and comfort while accessing your unit are important to us, so just talk to the facility manager if you have any concerns or special requests.

Yes, we have outside parking at select locations. Parking space size and price varies by location. You can also store a vehicle or trailer inside a storage unit with proof of insurance and copy of registration. Not all facilities have vehicle parking. Call  for details and availability.

To keep our facilities safe and compliant, all vehicles stored at Affordable Attic Self Storage must meet a few simple requirements:

• Running condition – Vehicles need to be operational and able to move under their own power.
• Registered – You’ll need to provide a current registration showing you as the owner.
• Insured – Proof of valid insurance is required for any car, truck, boat, motorcycle, or RV.

These requirements apply whether you’re storing in an outdoor parking space or inside a storage unit. Just bring a copy of your registration and proof of insurance when you move in, and we’ll get you set up quickly.

We advise caution when storing very valuable or irreplaceable items. Firearms cannot be stored in our regular units – our rental agreement prohibits storing firearms on site (even though we’re in Texas, and many of us are firearm owners, we have to adhere to this policy for safety). If you have a firearm collection or extremely high-value items like expensive jewelry, we recommend using our specialty secure storage, FreedomVault, which offers high-security vaults and insurance options for such items. For items like valuable coin collections, gold, or heirlooms, you can store them with us, but if their total value exceeds $5,000, our contract will require that you carry insurance on those items (for your own peace of mind). In short, everyday household items and furniture are fine, but for guns or extremely valuable treasures, ask us for more details on your FreedomVault options.

No worries, it happens! If you forget the gate access code to enter the facility, just give us a call during our office hours. The facility manager (we call them our Facility Director) at the location where you rent will verify your identity and assist you in retrieving or resetting your access code. We’re here to help make sure you can get in to your unit. For security, we can’t give out codes without proper verification, but we’ll guide you through the process quickly so you’re not locked out. In short, call your Affordable Attic Self Storage location and we’ll get you squared away with your gate code.

One of the best features of Affordable Attic Self Storage is that you have access to your unit 7 days a week, 365 days a year – essentially, anytime! In fact, most of our locations offer 24/7 access to customers. That means whether it’s a weekday evening, a Sunday afternoon, or even a holiday, you can drive up and get to your stored belongings whenever you need them. We know that flexibility is important, and you might need to grab something from storage outside of “normal” hours, and that’s totally fine with us. (Just be sure to keep your gate access code handy to enter the facility.) Our properties are open for you around the clock, while our on-site office is open during normal business hours for in-person assistance. With round-the-clock access and camera monitoring, we make sure you can retrieve items on your schedule, day or night.

We use 24/7 video surveillance, electronic gated entry with personal access codes, high-quality locks, and bright lighting throughout the property.
